An ongoing practice in my work is drawing the figure in motion from live experience, and especially in the performance of circus and dance.

The elements of circus and carnival – the escapism and exuberance, the physical expressiveness of the body, the colour, costume, the controlled chaos of a world apart- all fascinate and inspire me. I try to capture that essence in my work through drawing, collage, painting, animation, installation and sculpture.
