How it Happens….
All work is produced using premium quality materials – oil paint, canvas, charcoal and graphite on heavyweight premium cartridge paper.
My portrait painting and drawing prices start from €200 for a charcoal/ graphite portrait drawing and oil on canvas portraits start from €500.
Please contact me with any questions or send an image using the form at bottom of page.
2. Consult on the photographic references to be used, and the sittings, if applicable.
Portrait paintings and drawings can be created from your own photographs, or live sittings, or a combination of live sittings and my own photography.
We can discuss suitable images via phone, email or by appointment in my studio at Bridge St in Dundalk and I’ll make a simple preparatory sketch to ensure that you are happy with all aspects before work begins.
3. Agree a timeline. After initial consultation allow approximately 6 – 8 weeks for the completion of an oil painting, depending on available time slots and size and complexity.
A charcoal/ graphite drawing can be completed in as little as 10 – 20 days.
4. Your portrait can be supplied framed or unframed. All quoted prices are for unframed work supplied mounted and wrapped in protective plastic.
If you do have an existing frame and you would like me to match your portrait size to it, just let me know.
If you would like to get your portrait framed, I can assist with the choosing, ordering and delivery of the framed piece from a specialist framing service.
Frames can cost from approx €30 up to €250 for large pieces.
I always recommend that you buy the best frame you can afford to suit your very personal original piece of art.
Payment Options
I request a non-refundable deposit of 50% before commencing work, with the remainder due on completion of the portrait.
Payment in full at the outset is always fine too.
I can currently accept payment by bank transfer, card, cheque, paypal or cash, in euro or sterling.
PLEASE NOTE Paypal carries a 4% surcharge.
