New discipline, new skills, new work – very exciting
The life of Aesop, the Greek slave whose fables have endured to modern times, was the subject of a 2021 stage show by Encore Productions. I was commissioned to produce animated versions of 11 fables as part of the show.
Drawing live from a moving dancing figure leaves you no choice but to be truthful. It creates a direct eye-to-hand connection and the brain has no time to interfere.
The‘Cracked Mirror’ paintings weave together threads from carnival, dance and costume, colour, pattern, animals, symbolism, escape and the human body.
